TCS was founded by several former ATSF Railway executives in 1991. Homer Henry was installed as the President and Terese Jones as its Senior Vice-President. TCS was incorporated to meet the needs of the Class 1, regional and shortline railroad industries in the administration and implementation of the Federal Railroad Administration 49 CFR Part 240, Qualifications for Locomotive Engineers regulations. Since the inception of the regulations for engineer certification, TCS has provided the programs, training and specialized services for compliance, certification and administration for its participating railroad clients. Since 1991, our current President Terese Jones has been spearheading TCS’ growth. In her early work as the Senior Vice President of TCS, she was responsible for leading many unique projects and creating innovative ideas and solutions for a wide variety of client situations. Her reputation for excellence has followed her through today as she has expanded the business to serve an even wider range of commuter and freight railroads across the United States, Mexico and Canada. TCS offers a wide range of training programs as well as a commitment to flexibility, thus making the programs accessible to all railroads, whether they are major carriers or shortlines. Since the inception of TCS in 1991, the growth of our training requests by clients has been no less than phenomenal. TCS has been able to maintain a competitive advantage by being the first non-railroad affiliated training company in the United States. TCS offers professional instruction not only in the classroom, but with on-the-job training with both portable CBT-based simulators to actual trains. TCS has been able to sustain this advantage by providing the most comprehensive training for all aspects of railroad operations and meeting the unique and specific needs of the clients. TCS facilitators guide the clients through a process of developing performance-based training objectives, completing a task analysis, and designing course requirements that fit the unique operating conditions and needs of each individual client ranging from inter-plant switching to Class 1 carriers. TCS’ outstanding reputation and credibility with the FRA attracts clients because TCS’ training programs have proven over time that they will meet or exceed all federal regulations and certification requirements. |
